Research Awards in our group

Southworth Visiting Professorship: During Columbia University's Division of Cardiology Annual Southworth Visiting Professorship, the Biomedical Research Foundation sponsors a Cardiology Fellow’s research competition which features the finalist presentation submitted during the preceding contest. Dr. Martin Cadeiras obtained one of the two Research Prizes of the Southworth competition May 2-3 2006 for his work on "Early Detection of Cardiac Allograft Rejection through Gene Expression Profiling".

Harlem Children Society Science Fair: The Science fair of Harlem Children Society brings together selected children from different schools in the U.S. to present the summer projects in which they participate as an educational activity to promote their insertion into the academic community.

Our joint 17-year old student Anatasia Gangadin received the first prize for her work on gene expression profiles in antibody-mediated cardiac allograft rejection. Non-the-less, Anatasia was selected to present her work at the Sigma-Xi Scientific Society - November 4, 2006.

American Transplant Congress - Young Investigator Award. Martin Cadeiras MD, for his work on "Gene Signatures of Antibody Mediated Cardiac Allograft Rejection". To be presented in the American Transplant Congress, San Francisco, May 2007.
